Forbes Library is thrilled to invite exhibit proposals for the Hosmer Gallery for the first time since 2019! We’ll be planning exhibits for December 2022 through December 2023.
Applications open: June 10, 2022 Applications close: July 16, 2022, 6 PM The schedule will be finalized in September.
The Hosmer Art Gallery, which opened in 2002, is designed to provide opportunities for local artists to show their work to the public. Exhibits include a wide range of media and content reflecting the diversity of the greater Northampton community. The Hosmer Gallery has versatile display panels, cases and pedestals to accommodate a variety of two- and three-dimensional art formats.
We offer an inclusive space that builds community and belonging. Artists living and working in western Massachusetts (Hampshire, Hampden, Franklin and Berkshire counties) are eligible to apply. First-time exhibitors, individuals and groups are welcome. We value diversity and inclusivity in our gallery exhibitions. This year an Advisory Committee will work with the Head of Arts & Music to review the applications and curate the series. Criteria for review include technical and artistic quality, a coherent theme, and contribution to an interesting and varied program for the year.
Our website inclueds the online Application and information for prospective exhibitors.

Saturday, September 17, 2022, 11 am Northampton Neighbors’ DoozyDo Parade is a joyful, inclusive, unconventional celebration in—and of—the City of Northampton, featuring people of all ages, local organizations, and businesses. Come enjoy local bands and musicians, roller derby devotees, bagpipers, floats and antique cars, and teams of kids, adults and seniors parading in ridiculous regalia.
This festival of silliness will connect us as a community while raising awareness and financial support for Northampton Neighbors, a volunteer-based organization providing free programs and services to help seniors in Northampton, Florence, and Leeds live independent, engaged lives in their homes and communities.
Mark your calendar, and join the parade! |
