For National Poetry Month we used our #MondayPoetryPause posts on social media to feature original works submitted by YOU, our patrons.
What a talented community we have!
We received many submissions and lots of appreciation for the posts all month long so we will continue to post your work monthly, on our Instagram and Facebook feeds.
Join in! Send your submission to firstname.lastname@example.org.
'"Berkeley Public Library Thanks!
Wish more public libraries were like you!
We all need a poetry pause."
"This is a beautiful program that you are doing. Creating a platform where artists can share their work of words is the heartbeat of the mission of the library. Please continue to be a lighthouse for the writing community. Truly a job well done."
May hoopla Bonus Borrows
Bonus Borrows means you have access to the title immediately and it does not count against your monthly instant borrows allotment.
hoopla allows you to instantly borrow movies, music, audiobooks, e-books, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, or phone – and even your smart TV. If you need any support getting started, call library staff at 510.981.6100 or book a 1:1 tech help session with a librarian.
Summer Reading is Right Around the Corner!

Updates on Library Services during Covid-19
This past year, the Library has been proud to serve our community in ways that center staff and patron safety, helping to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Berkeley, while also ensuring patrons have access to physical library materials, information services and a robust schedule of virtual programs.
Staff teams are busy making plans for a staged reopening of our locations. The teams are working in coordination with the City of Berkeley, our labor partners and Public Health on a phased reopening plan. The Library will provide updates via this e-newsletter, on social media and on our website.
