Spring Break Scavenger Hunt: Begins Monday, April 4
We have hidden a library card in the children's area at each of our five libraries.

Clues to spot the cards will be posted at our libraries as well as on Facebook and Instagram, beginning Monday, April 4th - the first day of Spring Break for BUSD!

Visit at least two of our libraries, find the hidden library card and have staff stamp or initial your card to win a $5 gift card for the Friends of the Library bookstores ($5 at the bookstores can mean a stack of books!)

There are walking instructions and bus routes listed on the back of the gamecards - this is a family-friendly way to check out some of our libraries you haven't visited recently!

April 5th is National Library Worker Day
For nearly two years - since June 2020 - our staff have been back in our libraries, serving our patrons initially through Outdoor Pickup, enhanced e-Collections, virtual programming and reference services via phone or email and then through reopening our buildings, striving to offer indoor services that centered safety for all. Even when some staff were not in our buildings, they were working as City of Berkeley Disaster Service Workers or working remotely on our Library collections, technology, communications or finance teams. Like you and your loved ones, our staff have gone through many different personal circumstances as the pandemic evolved.

As we enter "year 3" of library services during a pandemic, staff look forward to continuing to serve our community, providing opportunities for Berkeley patrons to learn, relax, grow, thrive and connect.

If you are in one of our buildings on the 5th, feel free to nod to staff and say, "Happy National Library Worker Day!"

City of Berkeley Vaccine Clinic in April at the Library

The City is holding a vaccine clinic in front of the Tool Lending Library on MLK at Russell on Tuesdays in April. Spread the word about the Target gift card they are offering! Check the online event calendar for times and details.
