Author Visit: Scary Stories (for adults!) with Loren Rhoads Monday, October 24 @ 12noon Virtual
This spine-chilling story time for adults will get you in the Halloween spirit!
Hear local author Loren Rhoads read her short story, "In the Pines," a tale that's short but definitely not sweet and participate in a live Q&A with the author. Then listen to the beginning of Shirley Jackson's classic masterpiece The Haunting of Hill House as read by David Warner.

Local author Sumiko Saulson reads an excerpt from hir novella Ashes and Coffee, a distinctly Bay Area, modern take on Poe's The Masque of the Red Death followed by a live Q&A with Sumiko. Then hear the original Poe story as read by Basil Rathbone.

Beginning in the Scottish Highlands, in the garden of the filmmaker's godfather, the film travels between conservationists in China and Scotland who devote their lives to the rhododendron’s survival.

Día de los Muertos is a two-day Mexican holiday honoring the lives of family members, friends, and others who have passed away. One important part of this tradition is the ofrenda (altar). Please feel free to email pictures of your departed loved ones to print out for our community ofrenda.
