Celebrate Latinx Heritage Month |
|
|
by Christina Diaz Gonzalez & Gabriela Epstein Jorge, who goes by George at school, is called to the principal's office because he hasn't finished his community service hours. He is thrust with a disparate group of four other Latine/Latinx kids to clean the cafeteria and the school yard. But, when they discover someone in need they rally together to help. The characters are all unique and believable. The text is presented at times in both Spanish and English in a fresh easy to read format. Artist Gaby Epstein creates a memorable cast. Colorist Lark Pien provides a gorgeous color palette. This is a superb graphic novel about fitting in and letting yourself be seen.
