We will post all of the pictures on Lewisville Branch Library’s website and you may vote for your favorite creation via an online form from June 18-27. A winning photo will be announced on June 28. The winner will get a prize provided by the Friends of the Lewisville Branch Library.

How to Adopt or Foster a Dog or Cat: ABCs from the Forsyth Humane Society (Virtual)

Are you thinking of adopting a dog or cat, or perhaps fostering one? The Forsyth Humane Society will explain how to select animals that best fit with your family, as well as how to care for a dog or cat in the first year of its life and beyond, including costs, veterinary services, vaccines, housing, exercise, socialization, and more. Our presenter, Rex Welton, brings more than 21 years of experience with the Forsyth Humane Society to this presentation. This is open to adults and their families. ABC of NC is offering parent and professional classes online, but clinic-services and lessons for preschool and most school age children through the Education Center are being offered on a regular schedule. The Autism Society of North Carolina offers a variety of resources and events for those with sensory processing differences and their families. However, online webinars and virtual meetings are being offered. Please visit their website to find autism-specific resources for families seeking up-to-date information during the current COVID-19 situation. Teens and Pre-Teens with special needs can join the Saturday Club at Brenner Children’s Hospital. This group meets the third Thursday of every month. For more information about this or other groups please call 336-727-2505. Wake Forest Baptist Health is allowing limited access to patients in Out-Patient and In-Patient Facilities. Please visit the Brenner Children's Hospital visitation webpage to find more information about the times and requirements necessary for a visit. iClub at iCan House is accepting applications from young people, ages 8 to 14, who are interested in expanding their social skills and making new friends. iCan House also offers Real World Connections, a program for teens with the opportunity for both peer-to-peer and mentor-led interactions. This program focuses on communication, flexibility, and real world life skills among other things.
