So that the Library Team can enjoy the City of University Park Employee Luncheon, the library will be closed on Friday, December 10 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The library will also be closed from Friday, December 24 - Saturday, December 25 for the Christmas holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday, December 28 at 10 a.m. We will be closed on Saturday, January 1 for the New Year's holiday, reopening on Tuesday, January 4.

Winter Break Reading Challenge December 18 through January 3 Students in Kindergarten through grade 7 are invited to participate in a Winter Break Reading Challenge! Visit the library to pick up a Reading Challenge card and complete as many boxes as you can before January 3. Teen Take and Make: Danish Hearts Available at the service desk for students in grades 7 - 12 Teens can pick up a kit from UP Library with the supplies you need to make their own Danish hearts, woven holiday decorations from Denmark! While supplies last.

Finals Study Hall During library hours, December 7 to December 16 Enjoy a quiet place to study for finals or work on projects! Snacks, coffee, and hot chocolate will be available for teens and college students. The library also has two study rooms for groups of two or more students (must present school ID).

Visit the library to check out one of our Book Club in a Bag sets! They contain 8 copies of a popular and engaging title as well as ready-made discussion questions for local books clubs, whether they are just starting out or long-established. These sets are available to our resident cardholders for a 5-week check-out period. Call us if you would like to place a hold request for any of the sets below.

Access more content at home or on the go! The UP Public Library has downloadable eBooks, audio books, movies, magazines, music albums and more available online for free with your library card. These can be accessed on your computers, Kindles, tablets and smartphones.

Our app, UPTXLIB, puts the library catalog and your account information on your smartphone! You can even link multiple cards to keep track of your family's materials. Once you've logged into the app, all you need to bring to the library to check out is your smartphone! Planet Library: the Library App for Kids Using the Planet Library app, kids can search the catalog, learn how to use the library, play fun & educational games, and check out from their smart phone or tablet. Download from your app store and use the Library ID UPTX to find us, then log in with your child's library card number and PIN (the last four numbers on their card).

The Friends of UP Public Library's used bookstore in Snider plaza is located at 6916 Snider Plaza, and is open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. through December 18. Purchase their gently used, donated books to add to your own personal library, or gift them to friends and family during the holiday season!
