Curbside service is still available for your reserved materials! Place your holds like normal through the UPTXLIB app or by calling the library at 214-363-9095. Once we have notified you that your holds are ready, come to the library and call us when you have arrived. Open your trunk or hatch and we will place the items in your car. In case of bad weather, please go to the 1st level of the parking garage and pull up by the elevator vestibule before calling us.

Thursday, January 20 The Forger's Forgery Program starts at 7 p.m. UP Public Library's 3rd Floor Community Room A University Park resident, Clay will discuss art forgery and how this crime is increasing relative to the soaring prices of fine art. He will talk about the personality types of four notorious art forgers, new detection methods for authenticating fine art, and unlikely motivations behind the crime. Clay will have books for sale at the event. This is the first in a series of local author visits to the library in 2022. Be sure to check the library’s newsletter or our events calendar for details about the authors who are scheduled in the months ahead.

Saturday, January 29 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. For students in grades 7 - 12 Ages 12 and up are invited to learn about robotics with staff from the Perot Museum! Using a motor, 3D printed parts, and other materials, participants will construct a robot that mimics the movement of an insect. Registration is required. Please email info@uptexas.org by Thursday, January 27. This program is presented in partnership with the Highland Park Library.

Our app, UPTXLIB, puts the library catalog and your account information on your smartphone! You can even link multiple cards to keep track of your family's materials. Once you've logged into the app, all you need to bring to the library to check out is your smartphone! Planet Library: the Library App for Kids Using the Planet Library app, kids can search the catalog, learn how to use the library, play fun & educational games, and check out from their smart phone or tablet. Download from your app store and use the Library ID UPTX to find us, then log in with your child's library card number and PIN (the last four numbers on their card).
