Middlesex County Library is excited to welcome you to our 2021 Summer Learning program. Tales and Trails is about celebrating our love of reading and our love of the outdoors. Our hope is to help you rediscover the simple pleasures of both a good book and the wonders of nature.
Unless otherwise stated, the programs listed are for children ages 7-11.
Find out why it is important to protect animals and make their habitats safe! This presentation will provide children with tips on how they can help animals in their own backyard. Salthaven cares for many baby animals each year, so they know what it takes to help them to grow strong and healthy in the wild.
Join author and illustrator Greg Pizzoli as he shares his picture books and graphic novels! Be sure to bring a paper and pencil to draw along as Greg demonstrates how to make characters from very simple shapes, gives us a peek at his art studio, and reads from his award-winning books. For grades K-3. Limited spots available.
Discover the surprise science hiding in a bag of Skittles™ . Explore solubility, buoyancy, reactivity and investigate the odds of finding your favourite colour. How sweet it is! Participants will need to pick up a bag of supplies during curbside pick-up at an open Middlesex County Library branch. Limited spots available.
Beginning in July, visit the communities of Strathroy, Parkhill and Thorndale to enjoy a storywalk! Each location will feature a different story; you'll receive a special invitation with more details in July.
