Creating Opportunities: Indigenous Veterans and the Indigenous Resurgence Tuesday, August 10 at 7:00 pm Lieutenant-Commander (Ret'd) Bill Shead will present on his experiences in the Royal Canadian Navy and of Indigenous Veterans. He is a member of the Peguis First Nation and served 36 years in the Navy. He has also served as the Mayor of Selkirk Manitoba, Prairie Regional Director General for Veterans Affairs Canada, and Chief Executive Officer of the Neeginan Centre. The Great Comics Challenge August 9-20, ***Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, August 14***
Join us in celebrating Free Comic Book Day and test your powers with the Great Comics Challenge! Beginning August 9th, pick up a challenge card at an open branch of Middlesex County Library, or print your own from the link below. Complete at least 2 of the 6 challenges on the card, then return the card (with proof of challenges completed) to the library, The Sidekick Hangout in Strathroy, or email it to programming@middlesex.ca and you could win a prize! On or after August 14th, don’t forget to pick up a free comic from your library (library branches that are closed on Saturdays will have comics available on their next open day). Intro to Laser-Cutting Design Thursday July 22, 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Learn graphic design basics and create your own masterpiece! Create your own design during our interactive Zoom session, then pick-up the laser cut final product at curbside. Participants will need access to a computer or laptop (not a smart phone or tablet) to participate in this program.
