Classic Book Club:
Another Country
Tuesday, June 14, 7:00pm

“Classic” books are classic for a reason – their literary excellence transcends passing fads, and they continue to engage readers generation after generation. If there are classics you have always meant to read “someday,” or if you read them in school before you were ready to appreciate them, now is the time to enjoy them with other adult readers.

This month we're reading Another Country by James Baldwin.

Call the library for more information, or register online. See the Classic Book Club webpage for more information!
Happy Bookers Discussion Group:
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
Wednesday, June 22, 7:00pm

The man he knew as "Control" is dead, and the young Turks who forced him out now run the Circus. But George Smiley isn't quite ready for retirement—especially when a pretty, would-be defector surfaces with a shocking accusation: a Soviet mole has penetrated the highest level of British Intelligence. Relying only on his wits and a small, loyal cadre, Smiley recognizes the hand of Karla—his Moscow Centre nemesis—and sets a trap to catch the traitor.

Multiple copies of the book are available for reserve. See the Happy Bookers webpage for more information, and register online!
Cindy's Recipe Corner
Warmer weather calls for simple, and cool, recipes. White BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwiches fit that perfectly. What is white barbecue? It’s a mayonnaise-based sauce from Alabama. But it doesn’t taste like mayonnaise. It adds flavor and moisture and is something completely different from what you expect in a barbecue sauce. These sandwiches use shredded rotisserie chicken, so there’s no need to heat up the kitchen. My favorite thing about this recipe? If you have any leftovers, toss the chicken and the sauce with cooked pasta for a completely different meal.
