We know how much you love our DVD collection: our statistics show it. We also know that many of you would enjoy the convenience of a streaming video service, and as of August 1st we are adding Kanopy, a digital video library with over 30,000 films available for FREE with a valid Phillipsburg library card. Kanopy, whose motto is "thoughtful entertainment" offers a wide array of classic films, documentaries, children's titles and much more. You may borrow up to four movies a month, and when you borrow a title, you have up to 72 hours to finish watching it. When your borrowing period is up, the title is automatically returned, so there is never a late fee. Each title in the catalog comes with full public performance rights, too, so if you would like to borrow a title to show to a group or in a classroom, you are always free to do so. The collection is always growing. From classic titles like His Girl Friday and To Catch a Thief, to cult favorites like Harold and Maude and Eraserhead, to hundreds of though-provoking documentaries, there is something for everyone in this collection. The Kanopy app is available for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Roku, Fire Tablet and Chromecast. Our staff will be happy to assist anyone with setting up their account.
