America in 1921 -- 100 Years Ago Sandy Putnam's lively and illustrated look back at that momentous year, the pivot year into our nation's Roaring 20's. So much then new: women's suffrage, SO important. Prohibition, SO stupid. New female fashions, adios to Victorian discomfort. Big time new home amenities-radios, refrigerators, dial telephones. And notable as always, new on the scene celebs-Rudolf Valentino, Babe Ruth, Coco Chanel's new Perfume No. 5-hitting Tiffany's shelves that September, snapped up real fast.
