A VERY SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Helen Petersen's retirement (8/31/2021)
Our beloved Children's Librarian Helen Petersen has announced her retirement as of August 31, 2021. She has served our communities and countless children and their parents for over 38 years. Helen was born in the Bronx and graduated from Hunter College. She is a resident of Bedminster and was a preschool teacher at Crossroad Nursery School before joining the library staff. Her storytimes are legendary and she has an encyclopedic knowledge of children's literature. She has introduced many, many children to the world of books and fostered their love of reading. Her gentle and kind manner has made her a favorite librarian of many. Due to Covid-19 there will be no public reception but well-wishers can send her cards or notes in care of the library. Helen will be working mornings through the month of August and may make some post-retirement appearances at storytime. We will all miss her.
