Friends Annual Meeting: May 6 at 7 pm
The Annual Meeting is where the Officers of the Friends are elected and a budget passed. We are always looking for new members to serve on the Committee, especially to help with the book sale, additional fundraising, and other community outreach projects. Please consider joining as an active member. Email Chairperson Christine Sullivan at christinesllvn@aol.com.

Message from the Director
People have asked me what will happen to the library if the budget is cut for the next fiscal year. And the answer is simple: we’ll try to bring our customers the best service possible with what we have. We will spend less on library materials and we will cut hours next year, that’s a given. How much depends upon how deep the cuts are. The most important thing to the library right now is that we do not lose our state certification. That is likely to happen if the library is singled out for deeper cuts than those given to other departments or if the cut is greater than 10%. If we lose our certification, other communities in the SAILS Network and across the Commonwealth can and will stop sending us materials for our customers to borrow. That will severely affect the way we do business. See you at Town Meeting.
