Calling for a Public-Spirited Volunteer
The Library is governed by an elected Board of Trustees, six in number, who are elected at large from the residents of the town. The length of an elected term is three years and the terms are staggered so that two trustees run in any given year. Recently Bill Fasulo, who had served on the Board of Library Trustees, married and moved to his new wife’s home in Georgia. That created a vacancy on the board that will be filled by appointment by the Board of Selectmen acting with the Trustees. This will be a one year appointment because it is too late to get that vacancy onto the April ballot for a full term. An advertisement concerning the vacancy and how to apply if interested will appear soon in the Sun Chronicle. Duties are not onerous: there is one meeting per month on the second Thursday evening at 7:00 PM.

Once again you can spend February choosing a book by a brief blurb. You won't know what the book is until you check it out! This has been a popular way for the last two years to find new authors or books. All of the books have been rated A on our blue slips, or rated highly in Goodreads. Inside 3 of the books will be a Golden Ticket which will allow the lucky reader to choose one of our prizes. Take a chance! It's free!

Pajama Drive Returns to the Library.
It’s almost time for the Boston Bruins PJ Drive! It runs February 1st through March 15, 2018. We will again be a drop-off spot for this collection of new pajamas for infants through teens. DCF (Department of Children and Families) will benefit from the drive. With regional locations across the state, this makes the drive truly statewide! DCF tells us that at any one time they are working with 46,000 babies, children and teens, and they always need pajamas. Cradles to Crayons remains part of the drive and will benefit as well.
