The end of 2020 is a welcome milestone in what arguably has been the most wretched year in living memory. I would like to thank the residents of the town for supporting the library and using its services during this time. I would also like to thank the library staff for all that they have done to keep this place open for all. Everyone has been great about respecting the safety of others. We have been very lucky. Let’s hope that 2021 sees this plague finally stamped out and a return to normality. All of us at the Richards Memorial Library wish you a healthy, safe and Happy New Year.

The Children's Department will have a virtual story time and Take and Make crafts available the week of January 11. Please remember that returned items spend three days in quarantine before being checked in and re-shelved. We are open for browsing and are careful about keeping surfaces clean. The Friends of RML were recently given the incredible gift of the book collection from the estate of Robert and Irene Adley of North Attleboro. We thank Charlotte McKay of Norwood, Robert's sister, for thinking of us. At this time, the Friends are accepting donations by appointment only. If you have books, DVDs or CDs in good condition please email friendsofrml118@gmail.com to arrange a delivery time. WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING DONATIONS AT THE LIBRARY. You may bring them to Plainville Public Library during a time when they are open. Please do not leave them outside the library.
