The Battle of Brooklyn Thursday, October 17, 7:00 pm The Battle of Brooklyn, also known as The Battle of Long Island, the largest battle of the entire American Revolutionary War, took place just 1 ½ months after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and resulted in a crushing defeat for the Continental Army. The Continental Army was trapped at Brooklyn Heights and the American Revolution could have ended there. Out of the ashes of this defeat at Brooklyn arose the determination and perseverance of George Washington and the Continental Army to change the course of history only 4 months later, on Christmas 1776. Presented by amateur historian Barry Singer, in co-sponsorship with the Historical Society of Princeton. Registration is suggested.

In this Sewing 101 program for boys and girls ages 5-11 yrs., learn how to use basic sewing tools and techniques to make your own Monster Coin Pouch! Learn how to do the running stitch and the whip stitch, add some crazy eyes and a zipper for the mouth! And Voila! Your monster coin holder pouch is ready to use! Easy tools such as large eye needles, needle threaders, round head pins and colorful craft thread make the work easy! *You must Register for this Program* Registration will begin at 7am the day of the program. Escape the Haunted Library! The lights at the Lawrence Branch are out and the doors are locked – and somehow you are stuck in the children’s activity room! Hidden in the room are clues to find the key that will get you out of there! Do you have what it takes? (Trust us, you don’t want to be stuck in the library all night). Bring your family (in teams of 2-6 people) and work together to see if you can solve the puzzles in 20 minutes!! Children of all ages are invited and everyone will have to work together in this Halloween-themed escape room. Please don’t be late or you will miss your chance! Registration is required, starting at 7:00 am on the day of the program. Each family should sign up for one time slot. Space is extremely limited.
