Three Authors Speak on Critical Issues of Social JusticeFriday, April 26, 2:00 - 4:00 pmJoin three authors, Alex Counts, Debbie Frisch, and Sam Daley-Harris, for a lively panel discussion on critical issues of social justice. Counts, the founder of the Grameen Foundation, authored Changing the World Without Losing Your Mind, a Forbes-recommended read for nonprofit leaders. Frisch, who opened HelloBaby, wrote Hello Baby: Building an Oasis in a Play Desert, a tale of community development in urban play deserts. Daley-Harris released Reclaiming Our Democracy: Every Citizen’s Guide to Transformational Advocacy, a guide to advocacy and change, offering an antidote to election-induced despair. Branch News - Lydia Weltmann, an Administration Assistant for MCLS, is also a published author. Check out her books from the MCLS catalog: The Street Rat’s Guide to Spells and Royalty and The Prince’s Guide to Brothers and Rituals. The King’s Guide to War and Family is coming out this fall (2024), and is “about a street rat and a prince who end up lost in the kingdom and have to work together to find their way home while demons and revolutionaries try to hunt them down. In the process they're caught up in a plot to return magic to the kingdom and they have to decide if the risk of the magical backlash is worth it. Or if their new brotherhood is worth it when they disagree."
