Janet’s February Pick: Texas Flood: The Inside Story of Stevie Ray Vaughn by Alan Paul and Andy Aledort The reason I chose to read this particular biography is that I have always been a HUGE Stevie Ray Vaughn fan. I have been very disappointed with previous biographies as they have not told Stevie’s full history, and just chose to dive deep into his addictions. He was so much more than just that sad part of his history. This book is very, very well written and really tells the story of this legendary blues artist. The authors did a ton of research and talked extensively with his brother Jimmie Vaughn (a legendary guitarist in his own right), his band Double Trouble, and countless other people that knew him well. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes blues music or that wants to learn more about this legendary blue artist!

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen Since its immediate success in 1813, Pride and Prejudice has remained one of the most popular novels in the English language. Jane Austen called this brilliant work "her own darling child" and its vivacious heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, "as delightful a creature as ever appeared in print." The romantic clash between the opinionated Elizabeth and her proud beau, Mr. Darcy, is a splendid performance of civilized sparring. And Jane Austen's radiant wit sparkles as her characters dance a delicate quadrille of flirtation and intrigue, making this book the most superb comedy of manners of Regency England.
