Hi all - this is just a quick update on some changes that go into effect this week as well as a reminder regarding our traffic flow in the parking lot. As always, please email me with any questions or concerns at firstname.lastname@example.org.

"Holds Ready for Pick Up" notifications
Beginning today, you will receive notification that your hold is ready to pick up via email or text. Library staff will only be making calls to patrons who listed a phone call as their preferred method for notification.
"Holds expiring" notifications
Ooops! Our bad! When we turned on the text and email notifications that your holds were ready, we also turned on the "expiring holds" notices. In normal times, patrons would get this second notice if they hadn't picked up their holds right away as a reminder. However, in these COVID times, we are not letting any holds expire. So, if you have received one of these notices, please disregard the message and rest assured we will not cancel your hold unless you ask us to.
Online Curbside Appointments
All appointments for pick up beginning August 17th are scheduled through the library's online Event Calendar. Once you get notified that your hold is ready for pickup, you may register for your curbside appointment online, or call the library at 596-6141 and staff will assist you.
New Curbside-Only Phone Number
We purchased a special cell phone exclusively for curbside pick up. When you arrive for your appointment, you may text or call 519-4018. All other calls should be on our regular 596-6141 phone number.
U-Turns and Traffic flow
Please refrain from trying to make a U-Turn near our book drop. We have increased our appointments to every ten minutes, plus we have cars coming through to return items in the book drops throughout the day. We have ordered signage reminding patrons to drive through the rear parking lot to turn around.
If you are like me, you are probably missing all those summer concerts and music festivals. I know it isn't the same - but you may want to explore the library's subscription to Qello Concerts. There is something for everyone. True confession - I often will login to Qello on my office computer for background music. Today I am listening to Coldplay - Live at La Cigale 2012. Let me know if you find something that you would recommend.
