Marc Brown VisitMarc Brown, the creator of the popular adventure books and TV show about “Arthur,” will visit the Union Township Branch at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10. Come early and let the kids make a craft featuring Arthur. A reception and craft time will begin at 6 p.m. After the talk, Brown will sign copies of his books, which will be provided for sale by Joseph-Beth Booksellers. After visiting the Union Township Branch, Brown will be one of the authors featured at the eighth annual Books by the Banks Cincinnati USA Book Festival Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Duke Energy Convention Center, downtown, 525 Elm St. The event is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call the Union Township Branch Library, 4450 Glen Este-Withamsville Road, at 528-1744.

Star Wars Reads DayThe Force is strong…at the Amelia Branch! Attendees ages 4-11 are invited to help us celebrate our third annual Star Wars Reads Day on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2-3 p.m. Play Jedi games, create out of this world crafts and play with LEGOs. Hands Up! Puppet Troupe ShowAhoy, maties! Come aboard the Goshen Branch, Monday, Oct. 20, 6:30-7:30 p.m. for singing, dancing and laughter as we have a jolly good time with the Hands Up! Pumpkin ContestDo you have what it takes to win The Great Pumpkin Decorating Contest? To win, create the coolest pumpkin around! Enter the contest with your friends or family, decorate a pumpkin and bring it to the Amelia Branch between Oct. 20 and Oct. 28. It will be on display for everyone to see.
