How-To Festival Join us for an all ages, interactive learning event on Saturday, September 6 from 10-3 at the Union Township Branch.
At 11am, Mad Science presents Spin, Pop Boom. You'll be amazed when the Mad Scientist is able to defy gravity in this energetic and spectacular special event. Didgeridoo tubes, foaming hands and steaming chemical reactions will introduce children to a world of exciting chemistry.
At 1 p.m. Rick Franckenhauser demonstrates and discusses brewing beer at home. He'll talk about different types of equipment and recipes.
At 2 p.m. Chef Joseph Childress of Specialty of the House demonstrates the basics of German cuisine. He'll show you how to make schnitzel, German onion soup with beef, potato soup, and sauerbraten. There will be schnitzel to share! Recipes provided.
We'll also have all ages activities throughout the day:
The Manufactory, a shared membership workshop that offers tools, equipment and workspace, will be on-hand to demonstrate their 3D printer.
Learn how to create a holiday center piece and hexnut jewelry.
Play with brushbots and artbots. Learn papercrafting and make a jumping frog or a Chinese takeout box.
We'll also have drawings for fun stuff like brushbot kits and giftcards.

Say What?! ContestWe're posting goofy photos on our Facebook page. Can you come up with a clever caption? Each Monday, we'll post a new photo. You have until September 27 to post your witty caption for our wacky pictures. Each caption you post is an entry into a random drawing! Enter as many times as you'd like. Two captions, one from a teen and one from an adult, will be drawn after September 29. Teens ages 13-17 and adults are eligible to play and win. Teen winners will receive two tickets to Glow Golf and an adult winner will receive a $25 Amazon gift card. Good luck and have fun!

Branch Library will be on Saturday, August 16, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; Monday & Tuesday, August 18 & 19, from Noon-8 p.m.; Wednesday & Thursday, August 20 & 21, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Friday, August 22, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Saturday, August 23, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
