Problem: Patron privacy is not private when we detail more than one patron on lists and forms that they see, such as the Award Certificate Form (used for Community Exploration Card recipients and prize winners). Solution: When having more than one patron detail their information on a list or form, cover the identifying information of patrons who have previously detailed information on the form.

Youth Educational Support School (YESS), is an educational program for youth in the custody of Utah Department of Human Services, offered in partnership with Salt Lake County Youth Services and Granite School District. Youth in the program learn about the County Library and visit several of our branches (typically Columbus, Millcreek and Whitmore) weekly with their counselor. Due to the temporary nature of state custody, the youth are provided student cards so they may check out books and become familiar with the great resources, relationships, and experiences the County Library has to offer. The mission of YESS is to provide a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment where youth will develop academic, technological, and social skills in preparation for college and career/vocational readiness for an ever-changing 21st century workforce – a mission that aligns perfectly with our own.
