The Library's Doggy Reading Time was featured on KHOU on August 1. Sherry Williams, one of their reporters, visited the branch earlier that day. The camera man with her filmed several children reading to dogs, and they interviewed several of the dog owners, along with Lucia Briggs, Pearland Westside Library's children's specialist, although not all of them appeared of them in the story. The story can be viewed here. Doggy Reading Time is a monthly event, typically on the first Saturday of each month, at 2 p.m. The next one is September 6. Children can come in and read to licensed therapy dogs.
