HOME ALONE ~ presented by St Johns AmbulanceFriday November 17, 2018 - 1 to 4pm This course is designed for 9 - 10 yr olds by the Canadian Safety Council, to help prepare them to deal with unforeseen emergencies and staying safe in times where they may find themselves alone for short periods of time. Participants will learn how to deal with phone calls/visitors, recognize hazards and follow home safety procedures. They will also learn first aid basics, healthy eating, fire safety and how and when to use 911. Course fee $30. Register with payment early, this course usually fills quickly.

Struggling to make ends meet after alcoholism costs her marriage and custody of her young son, photographer Helen slowly rebuild before falling into the circles of a philanthropist couple whose help exacts a terrible price. This selection will be discussed at our December 4 meeting. If you are interested in attending - let our staff know in advance and we will register you for the book club with a copy of the book.
