This would be a fun book to use, both to refresh memories of the old, original rhymes, and then to see how authors can write about the same thing from a different perspective. This, in turn, can be the springboard for a writing assignment: write a poem from the spiders point of view in Little Miss Muffet. The author has included the original rhymes, and historical perspectives of these rhymes at the end of the book. - Melody Writing, poetry - ages 6-12
