NEW HOURS MAKE @ East Open Hours In order to increase access to MAKE @ East during our most popular times, Open Hours have changed! MAKE @ East is now open during the following times: Mondays 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays 1-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Thursdays 6-9 p.m. Fridays 12-5 p.m. Saturdays 10 a.m.-1 p.m. During Open Hours, MAKE @ East is available for patrons to work on their own projects while a trained PPLD staff member is present. Equipment and supplies are available on a first come basis. Ages 9 and up. Ages 9-11 must be accompanied by an adult.

Iron-On Appliques February 4, 3-5:30 p.m. Experiment with a die cutting machine to create unique applique designs. Bring in your fabric item of choice (t-shirt, bag, pillow case, etc.) and iron on your new fabric applique creation! Ages 12 and up. Registration is required and can be done at www.ppld.org.

Mighty Macramé February 25, 2-3:30 p.m. February 25, 4-5:30 p.m. Join us to make a plant hanger, wall hanging or other knotted item with macramé jute cord. Ages 12 and up. Registration is required and can be done at www.ppld.org for either 2-3:30 p.m. or 4-5:30 p.m.

Maker in Residence: African Instruments and Dance February 26, 1:30-4 p.m. Explanation and demonstration of Congas drums, Djemba (jim-bay), Sakara, Cabasa, and Balafon will be provided. Patrons will get to try out the instruments and learn to play. An explanation and demonstration of West African (Nigerian, Senegalese) music and Dance will be provided. Patrons will get to try out different dance steps and movements. No experience is necessary. Ages 16 and up. Registration is required and can be done at www.ppld.org.

Wired Wednesdays: Ollie and Darkside Robots February 8, 4:30-6 p.m. Every second Wednesday of the month, we will host a circuitry or robotics workshop. This Wednesday, we'll use Ollie and Darkside robots to learn more about robotics and coding. Registration is required. Ages 9-18. Ages 9-11 must be accompanied by an adult; both parties must register. Registration can be done at www.ppld.org.

Teen and Tweens MAKEer Wednesday: Laser and Die-Cut Valentine's Day Cards February 8, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Stop by Make @ East on the second Wednesday of the month for an adventure in the makerspace! We'll be using the laser cutter and/or die cutter (Silhouette or Cricut) to create the most awesome personalized Valentine's Day gifts/cards of all time! Registration is required. Ages 9-18. Ages 9-11 must be accompanied by an adult; both parties must register. Registration can be done at www.ppld.org.

Teen and Tweens MAKEer Thursdays: Learn to Sew- Fingerless Gloves Every second and fourth Thursday of each month, we will MAKE something in the East Makerspace. This month, we'll work on our sewing skills (or learn to sew) by making fleece fingerless gloves. Registration is required. Ages 9-18. Upcycling: Paperback Postcards February 22, 6-9 p.m. Join us each month at MAKE @ East to transform your worn out belongings into something new and improved. This month we'll make postcards from old paperback book covers!
Ages 9 and up. Ages 9-11 must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. Parent/guardian supervision is welcome for all minors over age 12. No registration is required.

Amateur Hour Painting Party February 1, 6:30-8:30 p.m. It’s time for a painting party! Amateur artists are invited to experiment with watercolors and acrylics at this fun and informal program. We’ll supply the brushes, paint, and paper; just bring yourself and a friend! Ages 16 and up. Registration is required and can be done at www.ppld.org.

Sewing Social February 15, 6-8:30 p.m. Bring in your current work-in-progress machine or hand sewing project and socialize with other crafters while you work! Indulge in hot beverages while you share tips and techniques and get inspired by fellow creators’ styles and designs. Ages 16 and up. No registration is required.
