Homeschool Science @ East: The Human BodyFri., January 18 at 1 p.m.East Library Community Meeting Room
Students will be divided by age for this fun, interactive program.
Explore Digestion( Grades K-5): Join us for an amazing journey through your digestive system! See what happens to food as you chew, how it travels to your stomach, is acted upon by acids and bile, how your body extracts the nutrients you need, and how the final “product” is made. You will team up with others for this fun lab! Feel free to bring your favorite snack to “digest” (sandwich, crackers, gummy bears, carrots, etc.).
Fascinating Physiology (Grades 6-8): Whenever you go to the doctor, they use simple tests to evaluate your body systems to get information about your health. Fitness can be tested as well. Middle schoolers will learn about basic human physiology and how we can measure it externally. Blood Pressure, heart rate, balance, vision, and other tests will be done to collect information and create a report on each student, who will also learn what their test means in this fun and hands-on lab.
No registration required. These awesome monthly programs, each featuring a different science topic, will offer kids an engaging variety of learning experiences. Homeschool students of all ages and their parents are encouraged to participate. Homeschool Science @ East programs are scheduled at 1 p.m. on the third Friday of every month.
