Intro to Sewing Machines: Tote Bags Learn the basics of using a sewing machine, including threading, filling a bobbin, and executing basic stitches, as we create canvas tote bags with colorful linings. Ages 14+. All materials provided. This class is intended for those who have little to no experience with machine sewing. Ages 14 and up. Registration is required.

Hardanger Embroidery: A 4-Week Series
It's National Embroidery Month! Celebrate embroidery as a form of creative expression by learning a new technique: Hardanger. Hardanger is a traditional needlework from Norway. Worked on even-weave fabric, this geometric style incorporates many different techniques including pulled/drawn threads, cutwork, needleweaving, and satin stitching. It is traditionally worked in white thread on white fabric. This class is a beginner level course introducing klosters, satin stitch, blanket stitch, cut and withdrawn threads, needleweaving, pulled eyelet, and dove's eyes. When you register, you are registering for all the dates listed above (4 Monday morning sessions from February 3 - 24). Ages 16 and up. Registration is required.

Python Beginner's Workshop In this full-day workshop, we will learn the basics of Python, a computer programming language. We’ll start the day with lectures on the basic concepts of the language. In the afternoon we will break out into groups to work on projects. We will break for lunch from 12-1.

Valentine's Day Card Making Use cardstock, stickers, and other decorations to craft a Valentine's Day card for your sweetheart. Fantasy Shadow Box Magnets Create a memorable shadow box magnet for your fridge with mythological creatures, fantasy backgrounds, and more! Constellation Cross-Stitch Create your favorite constellation using embroidery floss and some basic stitches. Ages 16 and up. Registration is required.

Intro to TINKERCAD: Nameplates Learn to create your own 3D designs with the free software Tinkercad! This class will introduce the basics of the software, and participants will design a custom 3D nameplate. You will need to return at a later date to use the 3D printer to print your design. The cost of the print will be covered by the library. This class is recommended for those with basic computer use skills. Use of Tinkercad requires participants to establish an account with Autodesk, which is not affiliated with PPLD. Please note that to use PPLD’s 3D printers you must be badged (badging video available here). Ages 16 and up. Registration is required.
