Drop-in Painting August 2 and 16, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Amateur artists are invited to MAKE @ East to experiment with watercolors and acrylics at this fun and informal drop-in program. We’ll supply the brushes, paint, and paper; just bring yourself and a friend! Ages 9 and up. Ages 9-11 must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is required.

Calligraphy Basics August 5, 1:30-5:30 p.m. This introductory program will cover the various elements of calligraphy, with examples being provided for each of the two hands. Right- and left-handed attendees are both welcome! Supplies will be provided. Ages 16 and up. Registration is required and can be done at www.ppld.org.

Maker in Residence: Introduction to Zentangle®
August 6, 1:30-4:30 p.m. Join our Maker in Residence, Deb Prewitt, and learn the basics of the Zentangle® methodology. The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.
Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being. The Zentangle Method is enjoyed all over this world across a wide range of skills, interests and ages.

Painting in Water-soluble Oils August 20, 1:30-3:30 p.m. If you want to try oil painting for the first time, or want to simplify the process of oil painting, this is a basic class using a simple 3 color palette. Bulbs, Rhizomes, Tubers and Corms August 30, 3:30-5 p.m. During this 90-minute class, Colorado Master Gardeners will demonstrate the different ways that some plants store energy underground. Topics covered will also include planting hardy bulbs for spring bloom, overwintering tender bulbs, and starting bulbs indoors for winter flowers. Ages 16 and up. Teen and Tweens Learn to Sew: Sock Sharks Every second and fourth Thursday of each month, we will MAKE something in the East Makerspace. In this learn to sew event, we'll use old socks to make some awesome hammerhead sharks. Ages 9-18. Ages 9-11 must be accompanied by an adult; both parties must register. Teen and Tweens MAKEer Thursdays: Laser-cut Rulers August 24, 4:30-6 p.m. Every second and fourth Thursday of each month, we will MAKE something in the East Makerspace. Get ready to go back to school by personalizing your own laser-cut ruler! Ages 9-18. Ages 9-11 must be accompanied by an adult; both parties must register. Knit One & Crochet Too August 2 and 16, 1:30-3 p.m. Bring a project to work on, share ideas, and socialize with fellow knitters and crocheters! No registration is required.

MAKE @ East Open Hours Mondays 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays 1-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays 6-9 p.m. Thursdays 6-9 p.m. Fridays 12-5 p.m. Saturdays 10 a.m.-1 p.m. During Open Hours, MAKE @ East is available for patrons to work on their own projects while a trained PPLD staff member is present. Equipment and supplies are available on a first come basis. Ages 9 and up. Ages 9-11 must be accompanied by an adult.
