Light Painting: The Art of Low Light, Long Exposure Photography Light painting photography is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or to shine a point of light directly at the camera. Join us in Studio 21c with artist and presenter Paul Burns of Rising View Photography as he demonstrates different techniques of light painting with use of fiber optic and LED sources. We will discuss the pre-production process and the importance of the message as developed through script, shot-sheet, and storyboard. We will also focus on the elements that distract and those that enhance the production through framing, audio, lighting, environment, and other techniques. Introduction To Mixing in ProTools Avid ProTools has been the leading industry standard software in recording, editing and mixing audio for the past 15+ years. The Intro to Mixing in ProTools class is an in-depth review of basic mixing techniques including EQ, Compression, Gates, FX, and setting Pans/Levels. The class will show the progression of mixing from Start (importing tracks) to Finish (finalizing the mix for Mastering). Each attendee will receive a link to download the session to practice their own mixing as well as a copy of the final mix from class.

Click on a date below to register: After Effects For Beginners Class will be held in the Petritz Learning Lab Adobe After Effects is a motion graphics, animation, and digital visual effects software used in the post-production process of film and video production. Among other things, After Effects can be used for keying, tracking, compositing and 3D.
After Effects for Beginners will cover some of the basics needed to comfortably navigate through and create motion graphics, animation, and special effects for your video project. We will have video samples to play with and try to produce a stunning video sequence from everyday clips and images.
Class will be held in the Petritz Learning Center at Library 21c. Be aware that we have limited space so class will be no more than 5 people. A basic understand of computer functioning is recommended. Click on a date below to register: Studio Camera and Lighting Highly recommended for those unfamiliar with studio production work, this class offers a basic introduction to working with studio cameras, lights, tripods, and audio equipment. Class is normally 2-3 hours in length. It is recommended that you take the Studio 21c orientation class as well. This will allow you to reserve the studio and check out equipment as needed.
