ELEVATOR CLOSED FOR REPAIRS (JULY 11-JULY 29) The elevator at the Cora J. Belden Library in Rocky Hill will be taken offline starting Monday, July 11 for final repairs. The library hopes to have the elevator up and running by the end of July. In the meantime, library staff are taking steps to assist library-goers to access materials, programs and other services during times when the elevator is out of service. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns or to find out if elevator is running. Thank you for your patience!

SCORE - Business Counseling Sessions1st Monday of each month, 12:30 pm-4:30 pm(1 hour appointments) (NOTE: Second Monday during months of July & September) The library is now partnering with SCORE - a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. SCORE has nearly 50 years of experience in providing mentors, workshops, counseling and tools for growing businesses. SCORE is supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration. One hour counseling appointments are available at the library on the 1st Monday of every month.

We'll start with stories and songs for babies, move into stories and songs for toddlers and then into stories and songs for preschoolers. Minecraft Club, Grades 3-5 Thursdays, July 7, July 14, July 21 & July 28 @ 4 pm-5 pm The library has set up a Minecraft server that you can use to play together with your friends. In order to use the server, you must own the PC version of Minecraft, have a valid library card number, and be accepted into the server by visiting the library. Contact Miss Cathy for more details.

Book Buddies Wednesdays @ 12:30 pm North lawn of library (weather permitting. In case of rain, Book Buddies will be held inside) Children in grades 4-8 read to children in grades K-3. A selection of books will be available for readers to choose. Bring a brown bag lunch and stay for fun activities after the reading is done.

MakerCamp for grades 4&5 & 6-8 Maker Camp is a fun and educational summer program put on by Google and Make Magazine which promotes creativity, originality, science, engineering, electronics, and more, through a series of DIY (do it yourself) projects that camp participants complete. The Cora J. Belden Library is once again an 'affiliate campsite” where students can come in the summer to complete some of the maker projects together as a group. There will be eight individual Maker Camp events that will take place on Tuesdays at 3:00 pm beginning on June 21st and ending August 9th. Each event has a limit of 20 participants from grades 4 - 5, and 20 participants from grades 6 - 8, for a total limit of 40 participants per event. Students in grades 9 - 12 can sign up to help volunteer at the Maker Camps to earn community service hours. Sign up for each program will open two weeks before the day of the event.

Come to the library and game with your friends on the library's own Minecraft server! Users can log into the server from anywhere they have an internet connection. Further, the library has meeting times once a week so that you can game together with your friends!

Teens: Learn Computer Programming with Minecraft Fridays starting August 5 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Get in the Game by literally getting into a game in order to learn some computer programming! Using Minecraft and a popular mod called ComputerCraft, you will learn how to construct computers and write programs within Minecraft which allow you to control robots that will build, mine, destroy, and follow your commands in the game world. The second session will take place Fridays August 5th, August 12th, and August 19th from 11:00 am - Noon. Participants are expected to attend all three dates for the session they register for. Sign up will open for each session two weeks prior to the start date and is limited to 9 PARTICIPANTS PER SESSION, so sign up quickly if you are interested.
