Proceeds from the sale will help fund the library's programs and special projects.

The Cora J. Belden Library is participating in the DASH for the STASH investor education and financial protection program, a contest taking place from April 15 – May 15, 2015 as part of Financial Literacy Month. The statewide winner for Connecticut will be awarded $1,000 to open or add to an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), thanks to the Investor Protection Institute (IPI) and the Connecticut Department of Banking. How to Play: - read the four posters at Cora J. Belden Library
- use your smart phone to scan the QR code at the bottom of each poster, or login to the website
- choose the answer to the quiz question (the information is on the posters)
- answer all four correctly and you will be eligible to win a $1000 IRA!
The posters cover topics of importance to savers and investors including understanding investment fees, finding financial advisors, avoiding fraud, and learning about investment products.

SCORE - Business Counseling Sessions1st Monday of each month, 12:30 pm-4:30 pm(1 hour appointments) The library is now partnering with SCORE - a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. SCORE has nearly 50 years of experience in providing mentors, workshops, counseling and tools for growing businesses. SCORE is supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration. One hour counseling appointments are available at the library on the 1st Monday of every month.

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a group of teens who meet once a month to make the library the best place it can be for fellow teens. For example, the group comes up with cool programs for teens, makes suggestions for developing the library's teen collection (books, movies, CD's, etc.), and designs displays for the teen section, among others.
