Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale Now collecting (through Sunday, November 1) gently used books, dvds, cds, etc. Drop off bin available in front lobby of the library. Next Sale: Saturday, November 7 10 - 11 am Friends members only 11 am - 4:30 pm General public Sunday, November 8 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm On Sunday, all items are $7.00 a bag Due to the tremendous effort needed to get the books organized for the sale, no items will be accepted for donation between November 2 and November 8.

Proceeds from the sale will help fund the library's programs and special projects.
To join the Friends download a membership form from www.rockyhilllibrary.info/friends, or get a form at the library. You may join the day of the sale.

Thinking outside the box: Creative ways to resolve conflict. Conflict is unavoidable! Learn how to engage with others in a MULTI-SENSORY way to help build rapport with unique and creative techniques. The latest brain research suggests that the more parts of the brain that are stimulated the more likely the impact of change. This evening will help you to visually understand conflict differently and approach resolving it from a unique perspective. Presented by Asha Patlikh, Licensed Marriage & Family Counselor, is owner of the Creative Therapies Wellness Center at 21 Rhodes Rd in Rocky Hill.

Join us for a lively discussion about this famous, reclusive author and the controversy surrounding her latest novel 'Go Set a Watchman'. Haven't had a chance to read 'Go Set a Watchman'? No problem! This talk is for anyone who wants to dig deeper into the mysterious author. We will be having an encore showing of To Kill a Mockingbird on Friday, October 16 at 1:30pm.

SCORE - Business Counseling Sessions1st Monday of each month, 12:30 pm-4:30 pm(1 hour appointments) The library is now partnering with SCORE - a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. SCORE has nearly 50 years of experience in providing mentors, workshops, counseling and tools for growing businesses. SCORE is supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration. One hour counseling appointments are available at the library on the 1st Monday of every month.

Minecraft Wednesday evenings in October 5:30 pm For grades 6-12

Do you like Minecraft? Come to the library and game with your friends on the library's own Minecraft server! In order to use the server, you must own the PC version of Minecraft, have a valid library card number, and be accepted into the server by visiting the library and handing in an application. Applications are available online here: http://www.rockyhilllibrary.info/teen/MinecraftWhitelist.pdf. Users can log into the server from anywhere they have an internet connection. Further, the library will be having meeting times once a week so that you can game together with your friends! You must bring your own device to play during the Minecraft Club Meeting Dates. Sign up is not required, so just drop in.

Message from the Friends of the Cora J. Belden Library We invite you to become a member of the Friends of the Cora J. Belden Library for the 2015-2016 membership year. The Friends of the Library provide many kinds of support for the enhancement of library services. We help fund museum passes, library programs for all ages, Baby Bundles for parents of newborns, a high school scholarship, the purchase of library extras, this newsletter and much more. In addition to financial support, we volunteer to help at library events and we are advocates for library services. Our mission is to enhance the partnership between the library and community while advocating for quality library service for all Rocky Hill residents. We can’t do all of this without you. Joining us for the first time or renewing your membership will enable us to continue our support of the library and further our mission.
