To join the Friends download a membership form from www.rockyhilllibrary.info/friends, or get a form at the library. You may join the day of the sale. Thank you for your donations. The Friends donation bin will reopen on Monday, November 9. The Friends are unable to accept donations November 2-8.

To End All Wars Songs of World War I Introduced by Author David Drury Tuesday, November 10 6:30 pm

Come join us at a special Veteran's Day (Eve) Program Come commemorate and remember the members of the armed forces who fought valiantly throughout Europe and the Atlantic with a special musical program and discussion by Rick Spencer. Music played a crucial role in the war. reminding soldiers of home, and uniting and inspiring them in battle. Rick will play a lively mix of popular and folk songs from this era, including songs that celebrate the humor and tragedy of war. Come relive history with this toe-tapping program! David Drury will introduce the program and give us a brief history of Armistice Day. He is the author of the recently released book Hartford in World War I Registration is required.

From Thomas' famous 'nooks and crannies' to the muffin man who lives on Drury Lane, English muffins have long been a breakfast staple. They were even a favorite of Thomas Jefferson. Come learn how to make easy, homemade English muffins that will be sure to impress your family, just in time for Thanksgiving! Come hungry, samples will be served! Sorry - this event is full. Learn 3-D Design
Wednesday, November 4, 6:30 pm Join us for this one hour crash course at the Cora J. Belden Library where you will learn how to design a 3D object using Sketchup, which can then be brought to life on the library’s MakerBot 3D printer! This program is geared for anyone in grades 6 and up, including adults! This session will take place at the library on Wednesday, November 4th at 6:30 pm. This program is led by Cora J. Belden Reference / Teen Librarian Michael Murphy. Sign up is required, and is limited to 9 participants. Please call Mike at 860-258-7623 or email mmurphy@rockyhillct.gov with any questions.

SCORE - Business Counseling Sessions1st Monday of each month, 12:30 pm-4:30 pm(1 hour appointments) The library is now partnering with SCORE - a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. SCORE has nearly 50 years of experience in providing mentors, workshops, counseling and tools for growing businesses. SCORE is supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration. One hour counseling appointments are available at the library on the 1st Monday of every month.

Minecraft Wednesday evenings, November 4, 11 & 18 5:30 pm For grades 6-12

Do you like Minecraft? Come to the library and game with your friends on the library's own Minecraft server! In order to use the server, you must own the PC version of Minecraft, have a valid library card number, and be accepted into the server by visiting the library and handing in an application. Applications are available online here: http://www.rockyhilllibrary.info/teen/MinecraftWhitelist.pdf. Users can log into the server from anywhere they have an internet connection. Further, the library will be having meeting times once a week so that you can game together with your friends! You must bring your own device to play during the Minecraft Club Meeting Dates. Sign up is not required, so just drop in.
