Did you receive a new phone or tablet over the holiday season, and are wondering how you can use it to download the library’s e-books / audiobooks and other digital content like magazines? Come to the library on Wednesday, February 11th to learn how! This program will be split up into three 30 minute sessions, with each segment focusing on a specific kind of device. We will cover Apple devices (i.e. iPhones, iPads, etc.) at 6:00 pm, Android devices (Galaxy, Droid, etc.) at 6:30 pm, and Amazon Kindle (Fire, Paperwhite, etc.) devices at 7:00 pm. We encourage you to bring your device with you to follow the process step by step. Workshop will be led by Cora J. Belden Reference Librarian Michael Murphy Sign up is not required, just drop in.

Join us for a 2 week session where you will learn how to design a 3D object from scratch using the free online 3D design program 3Dtin.com, and once the design is complete make your design come to life by printing it on our MakerBot Replicator 3D printer! The program will take place on Thursdays, Mach 19th and 26th in the computer lab at Town Hall. Particiapants are encouraged to attend both meetings to bring their creation from beginning to end. At our second meeting, the 3D printer will be demonstrated. This program will be led by Cora J. Belden Reference Librarian Michael Murphy. SCORE - Business Counseling Sessions1st Monday of each month, 12:30 pm-4:30 pm (1 hour appointments) The library is now partnering with SCORE - a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. SCORE has nearly 50 years of experience in providing mentors, workshops, counseling and tools for growing businesses. SCORE is supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration. One hour counseling appointments are available at the library on the 1st Monday of every month.

All are welcome to the opening reception of Youth Art Month at the Cora J. Belden Library on Thursday, March 12th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The strings students will perform as parents and patrons view selected artwork from the middle and high school arts students. The Friends of the Library will be providing refreshments.

Cora J. Belden Library will be taking part in the Big Library Read program. Library card holders will be able to borrow and read the autobiography eBook of Shakespeare Saved My Life: Ten Years in Solitary with the Bard by Laura Bates, starting midday Tuesday, March 17 and concluding at midnight on March 31 by visiting http://libraryconnection.lib.overdrive.com/ This is a riveting true-life tale of Shakespeare professor and prison volunteer Laura Bates as she teaches about the playwright in supermax solitary confinement, developing a friendship with a brilliant, dangerous convict. Patrons will be able to select a lending period of one, two, or three weeks, which begins at the date of checkout. Big Library Read is an international program that gives libraries and library patrons unlimited simultaneous access to a popular title during the program dates, creating a virtual, global eBook club. Interested patrons will be able borrow Shakespeare Saved My Life using a valid library card, and read on all major computers and devices, including iPhone®, iPad®, Nook®, Android™ phones and tablets, and Kindle® without worrying about wait lists or holds. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period, and best of all, there are no late fees! TIMELINE of BIG READ: March 17 - Begin downloading book to your device. Stop by all day at the library for demonstrations on how to download free ebooks, audiobooks and magazines. Teen Tech Week 2015 Teens: Build Your Own FM Transmitter Using Raspberry Pi Wednesday, March 11 6:00-7:30 pm

In honor of Teen Tech Week 2015, teens in grades 6-12 are invited to join us at the Cora J. Belden Library to learn how to create a FM transmitter using a Raspberry Pi mini-computer. By the end of the program, participants will be able to tune into their very own radio station on a FM radio! All materials will be provided. Teen Advisory Board Wednesday, March 18 6:30 pm

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a group of teens who meet once a month to make the library the best place it can be for fellow teens. For example, the group comes up with cool programs for teens, makes suggestions for developing the library's teen collection (books, movies, CD's, etc.), and designs displays for the teen section, among others. or ask for Mike at the Information Desk. Registration not required.

Teens in grades 6-12 Join us at the Cora J. Belden Library for a Wii videogame party! We will play Just Dance, Mario Kart and whichever other game the group decides on.
Snacks and drinks will also be available, so come join us for this fun and relaxing event!

Are you a fan of anime, manga, or even just comic books and graphic novels? If so, or even if you are just curious, come join us for a meeting of our new anime club at the library. Meet new friends with similar interests, discuss your favorite anime books and movies, and settle down to watch an anime show together. Snacks will be provided, so join us for this fun and laid back event. Sign up is not required, so just drop in!
