Cora J. Belden's 150th Birthday Celebration January 9, 2017 Come celebrate Cora Jane Norton Belden's birthday. We will have a children's party (see information below) as well as a birthday cake for everyone upstairs.

Health & Wellness: Magnificent Memory Tuesday, January 17, 6:30 pm Dr. Heidi Klughers, a naturopathic physician, will discuss factors that affect memory, and ways to preserve, protect and improve your memory. Registration requested.

Robbie Burns Night Tuesday, January 24, 6:30pm Join us this January 24th for our very own celebration of Burns Night, honoring the national Bard of Scotland, Robert Burns. We'll have bagpipes, singing, and Scottish dancing. No haggis, though - we promise! Registration required.

Coloring for Adults
Join us Wednesday nights for coloring for adults! Coloring pages and pencils will be provided, just bring yourself! No sign up needed. Wednesdays starting @ 6:00 pm (come anytime up until 7:45 pm) AND calling all colorers. We need help decorating the library. Stop by and pick up a snowflake - color it and we will put on display. Coloring has many benefits including stress relief.

Monthly Makerspace Wednesday, January 18, 5:30pm-7:30pm This program is for all ages! Join us for our third Monthly Makerspace at the Cora J. Belden Library! This program will consist of two hours of free time to come play with and learn the latest DIY tech, complete Maker projects, converse and network with fellow makers, be creative, and more. We will have available for use: our Maker Bot Replicator 3D printer, 3D scanner, Arduinos (along with a Sparkduino mini-robot), Raspberry Pis, Makey Makeys, Windows 10 PCs with various Maker and coding software, a Stop Motion Video station, as well as random Maker materials for completing projects such as paper circuits, wearable electronics, and more. Children in grades 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is required, just drop in. Belden Library now offers Rocky Hill residents a wealth of information, available anywhere at any time. In fact, we offer so much that it may be hard to keep up with it all! We know that all of these online tools can sometimes be confusing so we are now offering one on one sessions or for those who would like to learn on their own - we have brief video tutorials through Niche Academy to walk you through how to use our electronic resources. Niche Academy has short, simple tutorials that you can watch from home (or anywhere!).

SCORE - Business Counseling Sessions1st Monday of each month, 12:30 pm-4:30 pm(1 hour appointments) (NOTE: Second Monday during months of January, July & September) The library is now partnering with SCORE - a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. SCORE has nearly 50 years of experience in providing mentors, workshops, counseling and tools for growing businesses. SCORE is supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration. One hour counseling appointments are available at the library on the 1st Monday of every month.

Despite her unsettling circumstances, Hilda agrees to help her only remaining friend Norah O'Neill after the police arrest Norah's husband Sean, accusing him of murder and arson to hide a theft gone bad.
