Lace up for the Library! Saturday, April 8 A 5k Run/Walk (9 am) and 200M Kids Run (9:05 am) Libraries and running are joining forces! Have you signed up for the 2nd Annual Rocky Hill Library Road Race yet? You can register online or with a paper application. Come celebrate the Cora J. Belden Library by lacing up your sneakers and hitting the pavement! We have a video so you can see the scenic course. All money raised will go directly to support the Summer Reading Program as well as other library programming! Can't run/walk but would like to help out? We could use volunteers to help out with the race. The Friends of the Library will host a drop in informational session on Wednesday, March 8 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Come learn about ways to volunteer. Or feel free to volunteer by emailing corajbeldenfriends@gmail.com Watch for a cool library display coming soon to find out more ways to support the library.

Youth Art Reception Thursday, March 9, 6-7:30pm All are welcome to the opening reception of Youth Art Month at the Cora J. Belden Library on Thursday, March 9th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The strings students will perform as parents and patrons view selected artwork from the elementary (new this year!), middle and high school arts students. The Friends of the Library will be providing refreshments. Stop by the library anytime in March to see the incredible talent of our local students.

Ukraine Today Tuesday, March 7, 6:30 pm Come learn about current events in the Ukraine. The presentation, which is provided by the Ukrainian embassy, will be followed by an open discussion and chance to learn more about the future of the Ukraine. Registration requested.

World War I Digitizing Day Saturday, March 18, 10 am - 1pm
Do you have photos or documents from WWI in your attic or basement? We want to hear from you! In an effort to record the lost stories of WWI, the Connecticut State Library will be sponsoring a Digitizing Day. You are invited to bring in your family's WWI keepsakes to be scanned and added to a statewide digital archive. Rocky Hill Town Historian Robert Herron will be bringing his new book on Rocky Hill in World War I.

Author Talk: Mark Granato Tuesday, March 21, 6:30pm Wethersfield author Mark Granato will be on hand to talk about his newest book, 'The Boy' - a novel set in Hartford, Connecticut in the turbulent 1960s. It is part love story, part recounting of historical events that forever changed the shape of the State, the country, and the lives of those who lived through them. Registration requested.

Monthly Makerspace Wednesday, March 22, 5:30pm-7:30pm This program is for all ages! Join us for our Monthly Makerspace at the Cora J. Belden Library! This program will consist of two hours of free time to come play with and learn the latest DIY tech, complete Maker projects, converse and network with fellow makers, be creative, and more. SCORE - Business Counseling Sessions1st Monday of each month, 12:30 pm-4:30 pm(1 hour appointments) (NOTE: Second Monday during months of January, July & September) The library is now partnering with SCORE - a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. SCORE has nearly 50 years of experience in providing mentors, workshops, counseling and tools for growing businesses. SCORE is supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration. One hour counseling appointments are available at the library on the 1st Monday of every month.

Toddler Drive-In Friday, March 10, 10am-12noon Transform a cardboard box into the car of your dreams! We'll supply the parts and accessories for the body, wheels, tires, and personal details. Visit the car wash and sing a few fan favorite songs from story time. Afterwards, we'll watch a movie the old fashioned say: from our cardboard cars! Google Computer Science Workshop - Art with Scratch Programming

Join Miss Cathy to create and share your own digital stories with Scratch using library computers. Use the computer to design your own digital works of art! Use the computer to design your own animations, create a paint editor tool, and learn how technology is used in the art world. No previous computer experience is necessary. Minecraft for Grades 6-12Minecraft is changing nights and hours. Please contact Mike for information about new dates. There will be no teen Minecraft on Thursday, March 9 due to the Art Reception. Do you like Minecraft? Come to the library and game with your friends on the library's own Minecraft server! Users can log into the server from anywhere they have an internet connection. Further, the library has meeting times once a week so that you can game together with your friends!

Due to space limitations, we are unable to accept older items. Please check with the Information Desk for information on what to do with old books.
