Celebrate the 5th Annual 'Take Your Child to the Library Day'*** with a Free Family Concert at 2 pm! Families are invited to come sing and dance along to Evan Gottfried’s Family Concert. Through his music, Evan hopes to inspire kids to be creative and silly, have fun, learn cool things, and mostly, to just be themselves. He hopes that the big people who hear his music will also find inspiration, and that they may even remember how it feels to be a kid Registration not required. Can't make the concert? Stop in anytime and check out the children's room. Choose a book, make a craft, practice computer skills and much more! ***Take Your Child to the Library Day (TYCLD) is an international initiative that encourages families everywhere to take their children to their local library. Launched in 2011 right here in Connecticut by librarians Nadine Lipman (Waterford Public Library, retired) and Caitlin Augusta (Stratford Library) with artist Nancy Elizabeth Wallace, TYCLD raises community awareness about the importance of the library in the life of a child, and promotes library services and programs for children and families.
