We are very pleased to announce that we have received our Standards for Excellence® reaccreditation from the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO). PANO’s Standards for Excellence® program encourages excellence and integrity in nonprofit management. The standards set a high benchmark which go beyond minimum legal requirements by outlining how well-managed and responsibly governed nonprofits should operate. The Standards cover six areas of nonprofit governance, operations and management: Mission, Strategy and Evaluation, Finance and Operations, Leadership: Board, Staff, and Volunteers, Resource Development, Legal Compliance and Ethics, and Public Awareness, Engagement and Advocacy. Simpson Library is the only public library in Pennsylvania with Standards for Excellence® accreditation.
