In the mood for some spring cleaning? Got some books that you aren’t reading anymore and would like to use that shelf space for something else? The Friends of the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library collect book donations year-round to stock their three book sales each year. In addition to books, they also sell DVDs, CDs, jigsaw puzzles, and textbooks. Visit our book sale donation page and find out where and when to deliver your donations and the types of items accepted. The book donation drop off area at BOOKS BY THE GROSS, 400 Cheryl Avenue, Mechanicsburg, is open 24/7 for your convenience. Please pack your items in sturdy boxes or bags and don’t deliver them to the library. 100% of the items in our book sales come from people like you who donate books throughout the year. The Friends of the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library raised over $34,000 last year from their community book sales. Thank you for your generous donations and thank you for shopping at our book sales. Sue Erdman, Library Director

We are entering the final months of our campaign. We hope that as fall and winter have gone by and spring is on the horizon, our campaign has made you think about the ways in which the library supports your “geeks.” The third and final phase of our campaign is titled “Encourage Action.” In this phase we encourage library users to become more knowledgeable on how their library is funded and the challenges that public libraries face. For more information on how libraries are funded and what you can do to support the library, visit Geek the Library’s Show Your Support Page.
