Storytimes at Simpson LibraryLibrary storytime programs encourage children to develop a love of reading by presenting them with stories and activities in a fun, energetic environment. When kids see others excited about reading, it sets a positive example and encourages them to pick up books on their own. **Storytimes will resume the week of June 8th.** Rhymetime, Toddlertime, and Storytime are presented several times a week throughout the year. Family Storytime is presented once a week on Mondays at 6:30 pm. Visit our Storytime Events Calendar to view the current schedule.

Tuesday, June 16, 6:00 pm This month we're reading A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. It was a dark and stormy night; Meg Murry, her small brother Charles Wallace, and her mother had come down to the kitchen for a midnight snack when they were upset by the arrival of a most disturbing stranger. "Wild nights are my glory," the unearthly stranger told them. "I just got caught in a downdraft and blown off course. Let me be on my way. Speaking of way, by the way, there is such a thing as a tesseract." Meg's father had been experimenting with this fifth dimension of time travel when he mysteriously disappeared. Now the time has come for Meg, her friend Calvin, and Charles Wallace to rescue him. But can they outwit the forces of evil they will encounter on their heart-stopping journey through space?

Have you ever wondered about your ancestors, or wanted to know when your house was built? Curious about that unusual building downtown, or what life was like in the Cumberland Valley in the 1850s? Now, if you have a library card with the Cumberland County Library System, you can use it to gain free access to the resources of the Cumberland County Historical Society (CCHS), located at 21 North Pitt St. in Carlisle. Check out the CCHS Library Pass available at your local Cumberland County library, and you can access the rich resources of the Cumberland County Historical Society for one week for free. Stitching crafts that members work on include knitting, crochet, counted cross-stitch, canvas work and quilting. Stop by and see some of the completed projects that the ladies have created while sipping tea at the library every Tuesday morning. Call the library at 766-0171 for more information and to get the summer meeting times which will be on Tuesday afternoon. Men are welcome to attend with their yarn and thread projects, too.
