Hooray for spring! Are you in the midst of spring cleaning? Do you have books you no longer want to read or need that shelf space for something else? The Friends of the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library's book sale team is hard at work sorting and organizing books at their book sale center at BOOKS BY THE GROSS, 400 Cheryl Avenue, Mechanicsburg, for their Jubilee Day book sale on Thursday, June 18, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Information about the types of materials accepted for the book sale are on our book donation page. Materials can be dropped off at the book sale center, not the library, any time of the day or night. Thousands of books are donated by our generous community throughout the year to keep our book sale shelves stocked. Loyal and faithful readers and library supporters shop at these sales spending money that benefits the library. And countless volunteers help sort books each week and lots of volunteers help the day of the sale. Thank you to all who help make our book sales successful. Sue Erdman

By the end of May, we'll have an outdoor bench at the library provided by Nathaniel Stoner for his Eagle Scout project. Who doesn't enjoy reading outside in the sunshine and fresh air? We'll include a picture and list of donors to his project in our June issue. We are looking forward to working with Nathaniel and his fellow scouts from Troop 88 of Mechanicsburg and are pleased he selected Simpson Library as the recipient of his Eagle Scout project. Individuals and businesses who supported this project will have their names listed on a plaque which will be installed after the project is completed.
