Crest Hill Branch Clean Up for Earth Day
April 22nd is Earth Day, and what better way to honor Mother Earth than to help cleanup outside the Library? Bring garbage bags and work gloves to help clean up the outside area of the Crest Hill Branch Library.
 
This is a great activity for families, Scout groups, and service organizations. Need volunteer hours for school? We'll sign your form if you help us out!

This second segment in the Keep Moving Workshop Series presented by Robert Sweet, physical therapist, is all about stretching. In this workshop you will learn tips for stretching, especially as you age. Robert Sweet is a physical therapist with Edward-Elmhurst Hospital Rehab and Sports Medicine in Crest Hill.

Spring-themed Mason Jar Crafts 
Using Mason jars and recycled food jars, we'll make two adorable crafts that will brighten your home for Spring!
 
Our first project is a bright blue painted jar with sweet painted daisies on it. While the base coat dries, we'll work on our second project; a multi-colored string-wrapped jar. You'll want to go out and buy daisies and tulips to put in these cute vases once you get them home.
 
Each participant will receive two jars - one for each project - and a list of supplies and instructions to take home if you'd like to make more.

Weather spotter training gives people basics on what to look for during severe weather season; defines advisories, watches, and warnings; describes basic characteristics of storms that have the potential of tornado activity; and how and where weather spotters can report information from the safety of their homes.
