The 2020 Winter CheckOut Challenge starts January 2, 2020, and runs through the last day of January. It's for teens and children, and it's SO easy.
The Challenge is all about checking out reading material. We figure the more you have to read, the more you will read.
And, the more you check out, the greater you chance to win some fabulous prizes. There's a gift basket in Children's for the little kids, and two gift cards of your choice, at each branch library for the older children. In Teen, you'll get to choose between an autographed book basket or a $50 gift card of your choice at each branch library.
Here's how it works. Each time you check out reading materials (not movies, video games, or CDs), you can take your checkout receipt to either the Children's or Adult/Teen Desks for entry tickets. If you check out just one item, you'll receive an entry. To get a second entry, you'll need to check out 5 more items that day, and so on. There's no limit. For example, if you check out 11 books, you'll receive three entry tickets. And, you can come back as often as you like to check out more items, anytime you wish between January 2nd and January 31st.
For more information, speak to a staff member at the Children's Desk, Adult Desk, or Teen Desk. Teens can redeem their checkout receipts for entry tickets at either the Adult or Teen Desks.
