We hear you!
Here is a question that's been asked recently:
"Why has my card expired, and what do I do?"
Your library card with New Hanover County expires every three years if you are a Resident Adult. This is an automatic setting in our system that allows us to check and ensure that your information is up to date, i.e. that you are still an active cardholder and that we have your current contact information. We don't want you to miss out on any arrived holds any more than you do.
If you notice that your card is not allowing you to log in to your account, or borrow eBooks, or if you see that your expiration date is coming up in your online account, please get in touch with us! We know library access is incredibly important right now, and we want to ensure that you have it. Due to the current circumstances, feel free to contact us on Online Chat or to call the library to renew your card, if you do not feel comfortable visiting a branch. We will need to confirm your card number, your mailing address, your phone number, and your email address, if you have one. If you choose to visit a library branch, please bring a photo ID with you. This will allow us to renew your card for another three years!
