Book Sale Aims at $2 Million Mark
NHC Library used book sales were started in 1983 by the Friends of the Library,
and have raised $1,919,929.00 in supplementary funding for NHCPL
in the past 36 years. We can make it to $2 million this month. Prepare to go shopping!!!!
The variable hours at our book sales may strike you as tricky. Trust us. We've tried lots of different schedules, and settled on hours that work for the generous volunteers who do the heavy lifting, and the times that we know will draw the most shoppers.
Check the hours and progressively decreasing prices for the days you plan to shop:
Prices drop throughout the sale, of course, because the best inventory tends to get snapped up early. Crowds taper off, too, except for the last day when any item goes for 25 cents.
The very best selection is available to Friends of the Library members
at the Preview Sale on Friday, Sept 20
. Don't sit home feeling snubbed, come out and join this support group for your library. Dues start at $20 per year
, and are accepted at the door.
All the money raised at the book sales helps to enhance your experiences at New Hanover County Public Library.
