We've Got Answers @ NHC Library

|
|
NHCPL is pleased to introduce Ask-A-Librarian on our website. Perhaps you have already noticed it. If not, take a peek! Ask-A-Librarian allows anyone who visits the website to ask questions about our resources, services, and policies.

Ask-A-Librarian aims to be a reliable information resource for visitors to www.nhclibrary.org. The search box (see illustration above) is intuitive and offers suggestions as you type, so you get quick responses to frequently asked questions. - For example, do you know your library PIN number? That's our most frequently asked question! Naturally, the computer won't answer with your PIN. It will tell you to use the last 4 digits of your library card number.
Whatever your question, type a keyword or two into the search box to start looking for answers! - Our Virtual Services Librarian is busily placing customized FAQ search boxes on lots of Library web pages, like the page for Zinio, our online magazine reading service.
Also on the Ask-A-Librarian page : popular questions and answers to browse through ( see illustration below):

Stumped the Computer? Ask-A-Librarian is a computer program and can only answer questions it has answered before. What happens if you ask a brand new question? An email / text message box opens, and you can send your question to a live person. Very soon you'll also have the option of live online chat with a staff member!- Text “hours” or “fines” to 910-663-4314 to check out our text messaging feature!
- Texts and emails are not answered when the library is closed. You'll get a response on the next business day.
