We've Got This @ NHCPL
It's all about balance, isn't it? Taking social distancing seriously.
Not isolating ourselves emotionally. Being super clean freaks. Not obsessing. Settling into uncertainty. Keeping hope alive. Staying informed. Taking sanity breaks from too much information. Caring for ourselves. Caring for others.
New Hanover County's Strategic Plan for 2018-2023 includes the goal of promoting early learning that ensures
life-long resiliency. Resiliency meaning toughness, ability to recover or bounce back quickly from difficulties. The Library is building a collection of
Community Resources on Resilience. All county staff are required to attend training on resiliency this year.
Everybody hates a pop quiz, and this pandemic is a most unwelcome test of our resiliency, individually and as a community. But that's what we're facing, with all our best efforts.
Library buildings are closed and the physical collection of books and recordings is unavailable right now. They'll be back later. In the meantime, your virtual collection of reading material, learning resources, music and films is available 24/7, like always.
Library staff will chat with you online if you have questions about accessing all those invisible resiliency resources in the cloud. Talk to us about using them to help keep your spirits calm, your minds engaged, and your bodies out of harm's way. We're online Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.
